Are Grains of paradise Thermogenic? Grains of paradise, also known as Aframomum melegueta, is a herb in the ginger family that is native to West Africa, and yes, it is thermogenic.  It is known for its unique, peppery taste and is used as a spice in cooking, as well as in traditional medicine.
